  • Nutrition and dietetics involves providing advice, guidance and support to many different groups i.e. patients, carers, doctors, nurses, other therapists, healthcare professionals, catering, educational organizations and voluntary groups.
  • Our principle objectives are:

- To promote good nutrition in order for people to achieve optimum health.

- Provide specific nutrition advice if an individual has a medical condition or their nutritional status is changed.

- Prevent diet related illness through appropriate advice and nutrition intervention.

Nutrition affects every individual and therefore we provide comprehensive specialist advice, which encompasses nutrition from pre-pregnancy through to the terminally ill.

The following are examples of the variety of our work.

Nutrition for the preterm infant.

Nutrition for children aged 0 - 5 years.

Inflammatory bowel disease e.g. Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome.

Cancer - maintaining or increasing weight, changes in taste and appetite.
