PERSONAL INFORMATION:

Dr Deaner took up his post at King George Hospital in May 1996. He trained in Cardiology at Killinbeck Hospital in Leeds and then at the London Chest Hospital in Bethnal Green. Coming to King George Hospital was a return to home as Dr Deaner was born at the I1ford Maternity Hospital and his parents still live locally. Dr Deaner has a joint appointment with the Royal London Hospitals Trust, spending one day each week at the London Chest Hospital, where he carries out more detailed cardiac investigations on King George Hospital patients. Since coming to King George Hospital, Dr Deaner has developed many new services for cardiac patients including a Heart Pacemaker service, a new heart scanning clinic and a joint obstetric and cardiac clinic for pregnant women with heart problems.
